On the outcomes of the
Ukrainian-Russian gas talks, Ukraine has obtained favorable a gas price and
efficient formula of this price calculator. Prime Minister Yulia
Tymoshenko stated, reporting about the Government’s
activity to the Parliament.
“Gas price for the
population did not change, price for the “Teplocomunenergo” did not change, for the industry, if we
even count in dollars, changed by 5-7%. That is the way we have bridged the gas
crisis,” Yulia Tymoshenko
stated, commenting upon the results of gas talks.
According to her, our
state has obtained lower price for 2009 against all countries of the world,
except Belarus.
As the Prime Minister
stressed, the Government’s opponents fail to criticize the gas price, so they
began to level criticism against the formula of this price calculator, “As the
price for Ukraine in sum of 228.8 dollars per one thousand cubic meters is the
lowest, they can’t say that it is bad, so they claim that formula is bad”.
Yulia Tymoshenko
said that such claims are groundless, because the formula of gas calculator for
Ukraine is even more advantageous than for Poland, “If we compare our and
Polish formula, the gas for Ukraine, even without Russia’s discount, would be by
26.2% lower than for Poland. This is the formula’s efficiency.” The Head of
Government reminded that gas for the Ukrainians, including the discount is by
74% cheaper than for the Poles.
Yulia Tymoshenko
also underlined that before the current year, all problems in the gas sphere of
Ukraine were connected with the RosUkrEnergo Company’s
operation. She reminded that actions of this mediator-company had been shadow,
corrupt and criminal and covered by high officials of the state.
