PM of
Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced according to the signed Agreements between Ukraine and Russia on transit of the Russian gas via
the territory of Ukraine to Europe and gas price for Ukraine the price of process gas to ensure
transit will be USD 25 lower from the last year’s. The
Head of Ukrainian Government imparted during a joint press conference with the
EC Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs.
As Yulia Tymoshenko explained, according to the understandings achieved
with the Russian party the price for transit in 2009 remains on the level of
1.7 dollars per thousand cu m of gas/hundred kilometer. The Premier told transit price is
preserved as accord concerning a special price (153.9 dollars per thousand cu
m) for process gas had been achieved with the Russian side. “As you can see,
compared to last year the price is almost by 25 dollars lower. So, the price in
1.7 is well-grounded with such preferential gas price and it provides Ukraine’s gas transport system with
possibility to operate in normal regime,” Yulia Tymoshenko underlined.
