Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned the profile ministries to prepare promptly a concept of dwelling houses and water-heating. She disclosed this at the meeting on infrastructure energy projects.

“I can’t understand why other countries, more prosperous than Ukraine construct such projects … and why we make Ukraine dependent on gas consumption but not transfer to such systems of heat and hot water provision which the world has already developed and made them leading in the housing and communal system,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted.

The Head of Government stressed that now Ukraine generates half electricity than it is able. “Today the heat devices which can be installed on multistorey buildings, owner-occupied dwellings give us essential reduction in heat and hot water costs,” she stated.

Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, Ministry of Regional Policy and Building, Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, Ministry of Ecology, National Agency for Energy Saving under the direction of head of the advisers’ group Vitalii Haiduk to develop promptly a concept of such project.

“Now, at the time of financial crisis it is necessary to awake from sleep and develop an absolutely new strategy, concept of energy supply of the country,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.
