PM demands from oil traders to reduce oil products prices
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko insists on the reduction of oil products prices in the home market. She disclosed this during a meeting with representatives of the oil-production and petroleum refining enterprises. “I can’t understand this situation today: why the Ukrainian plants are lack of oil today, why we have such oil products prices which can’t be explained by neither the Government nor the Ukrainian citizens, nobody,” the Head of Government stressed.
Yulia Tymoshenko said that oil price had been recently reduced twofold in the world: from $147 per barrel – in June, to $59 – as of October 26.
At the same time the Prime Minister noted that she is not satisfied with insignificant drop in oil products prices in the home market of Ukraine: “if in peak we had diesel oil price above UAH 7, A-95 diesel – about UAH 6 now we practically do not register the drop in oil products prices in connection with the increase in oil prices”.
Yulia Tymoshenko noted that oil products in the home market are to cost half. “I am interested in what a price we can reach beginning November 1 and its calculation,” she added.
Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out to unsatisfactory work of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. “If we say that during the recent years Ukraine has been stuffed with monopolies as a turkey with apples then we have to say that this is a monopoly”.
