NJSC Naftohaz of Ukraine: Russia one-sidedly stops gas supplies
On January 7 Russia has turned off the last passage of Russian gas to Ukraine. Head of board of directors of the NJSC Naftohaz of Ukraine Oleh Dubyna told a press conference today.
On January 7 at 7.45 a.m. without warning the Ukrainian side Russia has turned off the last passage of Russian gas to Ukraine and, in such a way, suspended gas export to Europe,” he stressed.
According to Oleh Dubyna, at present the Ukrainian gas transportation system has transferred to autonomous operation.
The Head of Naftohaz informed also that since 1 January 1 billion 432 million cubic meters of Russian gas had been pumped to Europe. Moreover, to maintain an ordinary operation of the gas transportation system, 72 million cubic meters of gas was additionally pumped from Ukrainian deposits.
O. Dubyna stressed that Russian side’s decision to suspend gas supplies had not been agreed with representatives of Ukraine. Commenting upon accusations of the Russian Gazprom, the Head of Naftohaz noted that Ukraine physically has no opportunities to turn off a stopcock,” O. Dubyna emphasized.
He added that tomorrow, January 8, as it was planned, the Naftohaz delegation is leaving for Moscow to proceed with negotiations with Gazprom.Source: Government Portal
