European Commission calculated expenses for the modernisation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system
The European Commission finds essential that Ukraine should invest 2.5 billion Euro in it’s gas transportation system during the period 2008-2012 to keep the current volumes of natural gas transit to Europe. Faousi Bensarsa, Head of the European Commission’s Energy Security Department, informed that these conclusions were made by a joint working group of the EC and Naftogas of Ukraine NJSC. Ukraine plans to increase the natural gas transit by 3.36% in 2008 compared to 2007 figures.
