Ukraine’s price for Russian natural gas in 2009 is one of the lowest as against prices of other partners of the Russian Federation. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced on opening a Gov’t sitting Wednesday.

“I want to state that our analytics concludes, Ukraine has obtained, except Belarus, the lowest price for Russian gas among all partners of Russia which have contracts,” the Head of Government said and added that Ukraine has lower gas price even against Moldova despite the fact that Gazprom owns the part of gas transportation system of this state.

The PM also gave an example that Poland’s average annual gas price amounts to 399 dollars per one thousand cubic meters when Ukraine’s – 228.8.

“This is a unique price for Ukraine, a real victory of Ukraine and I’d like the country could enjoy its victories but not abuse each other when we really succeed,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted.
