Heads of Governments of Ukraine and Russia believe that understanding in gas issues will be achieved soon. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin stated at the meeting in Kishinev in the framework of the session of the Council of Heads of governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, Governments of Ukraine and Russia are ready to sign strategic gas agreements. The Prime Minister of Ukraine also noted that today Ukraine and Russia achieve understanding of all issues on bilateral relations, in particular, in gas sphere. “It would be very good if we succeed to sign strategic contracts on gas supplies to Ukraine by the end of the month. I consider that today our teams are ready to draft documents within such terms and prepare them for signing,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.

In his turn, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin expressed hope that Governments of two countries would bring about understanding on this issue.
