The
president of Energoatom company
Yurii Nedashkovskyi and Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to Ukraine Yasser
Atef have discussed cooperation prospects in nuclear
energy area.
Mr. Yasser Atef briefed on the plans of
development of energy branch of Egypt. According to him, through
reduction of stores of organic fuel the state is planning to increase a share
of non-traditional energy sources by 2015, including nuclear, up to 20% in
general energy balance.
“Use of nuclear
energy will afford to Egypt to ensure all the needs in
electrical energy under conditions of population growth and economic
development,” the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to Ukraine explained.
Mr. Yasser Atef concerned with
prospects of development of nuclear energy of our country and experience of
international cooperation in this area.

Yurii Nedashkovskyi told about the plans of
development of Ukrainian nuclear energy. He underlined Ukraine possesses
highly-developed scientific-technical base, enterprises of energy
machine-building, a cutting edge system of training personnel of nuclear power
stations etc.
“We won’t
be able to share with Egypt all nuclear technologies as Ukraine doesn’t possess them. However, our
specialists can provide consultative and methodic support and assistance in the
issues of training staff for nuclear industry, building and exploitation of
nuclear power stations,” Yurii Nedashkovskyi said.
