Today
Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC has transferred USD 605 million to Gazprom company for the Russian natural gas pumped in July into
underground gas storages of Ukraine. The Prime Minister Yulia
Tymoshenko informed the media conference on the outcomes of the Governmental
session.
“Today the
Government has completely paid off for pumping of Russian natural gas into gas
storages of Ukraine. We transferred 605 million
dollars,” Yulia Tymoshenko disclosed and added it was for the first time when Ukraine would have 27 billion cubic meters
of gas in its gas storages by the end of year which, as she said, means
protection of energy independence.
At this,
the Premier emphasized by the end of year the Gov’t “will ensure in full
successful operation of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC and flawless payments for
pumping up of natural gas into the storages”.
Yulia
Tymoshenko underlined just in this complicated period the Gov’t is accumulating
fundamental and crucial for the country reserves which our country have never
had. “We are accumulating energy coal reserve and for the first time we have
5.5 billion tons of coal in the storages, we will firstly have 27 billion cubic
meters of gas and we will have not less than 1.5 million tons of grain,” the PM
urged and added such policy of the Government prevents any negative impact of
the crisis on the country.
