The Energy Biosciences Institute, the world's largest public/private consortium for applying biotechnology in the energy sector, has announced an initial total of 49 projects for funding. BP will contribute the huge sum of US$ 500 million to this 10-year programme, with US$ 20 million of this being allocated during this first round.
