Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko discussed with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso the situation connected with suspension of Russia’s gas supplies for the European Union countries.

Yulia Tymoshenko assured Jose Manuel Barroso, if Russia resumes gas supplies for the EU countries, Ukraine will provide its uninterrupted transit.

Yulia Tymoshenko and Jose Manuel Barroso have agreed about urgent sending of the EU technical experts to hold constant monitoring of the natural gas volumes supplied by Russia for needs of the European Union countries.

Both sides consider necessary to proceed with constructive negotiations between NJSC Naftohaz and RAO Gazprom.

The PM also informed the President of the European Commission that Ukraine for its use is provided with natural gas of own production and natural gas being accumulated by Ukraine in gas depositories during the warm period of year.
